YOU MUST PRESENTLY BE A FULL- OR PART-TIME REGULAR HIRE COUNTY OF MARIN EMPLOYEE WITHIN THE HEALTH & HUMAN SERVICES DEPARTMENT IN ORDER TO APPLY FOR THIS POSITION. YOU MUST ALSO HAVE PASSED THE FIRST HALF OF YOUR INITIAL COUNTY PROBATIONARY PERIOD.
The Administrative Services Technician (AST) is part of the Health and Human Services' (HHS) Facilities team within the Operations Unit under HHS' General Administration. The Facilities team monitors requests for building maintenance and custodial and security issues at all HHS service locations. The team coordinates with the County Department of Public Works (DPW) and Parks and Open Space (POS) to resolve maintenance problems, pest issues, parking lot and landscape concerns, and custodial requests. The AST is responsible for a wide variety of tasks:
- Processing and tracking employee/vendor facility key card access and key requests.
- Creating purchase requisitions, coding invoices for payment, and researching expenditures.
- Providing support for project managers, space planners, Technology Services and County and HHS IST for space planning projects
- Working closely with their supervisor on creating and delivering Building Evacuation Response Team (BERT) trainings in Power Point, working with staff in other buildings to organize their BERT teams, and participating in evacuation drills at all H&HS sites.
There is one full time (1.0 FTE) regular hire AST position available in HHS Facilities at this time. ABOUT YOU
Our Highly Qualified Candidate:
The ideal candidate is flexible and able to work with changing priorities throughout the workday. They are highly organized and able to keep track of many different types of tasks at the same time. They are willing to work at different HHS sites, if necessary, to attend meetings and trainings. They are good at listening and providing information to internal and external stakeholders. They can work independently and use good judgement in knowing when to ask for help, but also enjoy working collaboratively on a project. They have some knowledge of or experience using MUNIS or a similar system for accounting. Finally, the ideal candidate is proficient in several software applications, including Excel for creating move matrices and tracking inventories, PowerPoint to create trainings, Adobe Pro for editing floor plans and other documents, and SharePoint for creating and updating forms. They also have some experience using A/V equipment for hybrid meetings and trainings.

Equivalent to completion of twelve semester or eighteen quarter units in coursework in business or public administration, accounting, economics or a field closely related to the work and two years of office administrative experience that included a combination of document review and processing, administrative or financial record keeping and/or office management. One year of additional experience as outlined above may be substituted for the education.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Candidates selected are subject to fingerprinting by the Sheriff's Department and must pass a Department of Justice LiveScan background check prior to appointment.
DISASTER SERVICE WORKERS:
All County of Marin employees are designated Disaster Service Workers through state and local law (California Government Code Section 3100-3109). Employment with the County requires the affirmation of a loyalty oath to this effect. Employees are required to complete all Disaster Service Worker-related training as assigned, and to return to work as ordered in the event of an emergency.
