The Pennsylvania Treasury Department’s Bureau of Unclaimed Property is looking for a dedicated individual who is interested in a rewarding career in government service, where you serve others and the greater public good every day. As an Administrative Officer I in the Bureau of Unclaimed Property, you will oversee the workflow management of the Claims & Customer Service Unit; coordinate the Bureau’s advertising requirements, as well as provide support to management by performing administrative tasks, planning, and special projects.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK
Coordinates the bureau’s statutory notification efforts, including the annual advertising campaign.
Communicates with advertising vendors and internal bureaus to maintain optimized workflow and to meet statutory deadlines for advertising.
Reviews and answers priority emails including taking steps to initiate complex claims and assign priority research questions.
Handles errors as a result of the system’s Claim Import process, dropped and denied claims and effectively resolves the errors in the claim system.
Responds to fraud posts from the National Association of Unclaimed Property Administrators (NAUPA) after reviewing internal documentation and consulting with Department investigators.
Manages the workflow for the Claims & Customer Service Unit with the daily assignment of claims to optimize bureau workflow.
Serves as the back-up for managerial research inquiries including requests from internal bureaus, other state agencies, custom research requests (PACSES, FDIC, etc.), mail tracking, annual reporting claims, etc.
Performs system testing when system changes are implemented by the vendor.
Assists with responding to emails from the bureau’s resource account.
Maintains the proper workflow of all Outreach Event forms to aid in the timely initiation of claims.
Provides administrative support to the bureau’s Assistant Director.
Performs special projects or other related work as required.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Strong time management skills essential to meet deadlines.
Ability to maintain optimized workflows to allow for productive and efficient claims and customer service operations.
Detail-oriented and strong analytical skills with the ability to multi-task.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite products and web-based utilities and the ability to learn other relevant software necessary to perform job duties.
Ability to learn Department programs and effectively respond to requests about those programs.
Ability to read, write and communicate effectively both orally and in writing with employees and the public.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders and the general public.
Ability to identify and resolve problems as well as communicate those problems to internal and external stakeholders.
Ability to interpret and apply regulations, policies, and procedures.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING
Two years of experience in varied office management or staff work; or
Bachelor's degree; or
Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
WORK SCHEDULE AND ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Full-time employment: 37.5 hours
Work hours: 8:00AM-4:30PM
Starting Salary: $50,680
Location: This position is headquartered in Harrisburg. You will have the opportunity to work from home (telework) up to 2 days a week. Management may discontinue the telework arrangement at any time, for any reason. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. If you are unable to telework, you will report daily to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The location where you perform your telework must be located within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
