The Office for Student Success (OSS) at Washington University provides support for Students who are the first in their families to go to college (first-generation) and students with financial restrictions (limited income). One significant way in which the OSS provides student support is through the administration of various Student Success Funds (SSF) which are designed to help students alleviate financial costs that are outside the parameters of a standard financial aid award.Job Description
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinate and perform daily tasks to ensure functioning of administrative office. Assist in development/coordination of programs/projects.
- Assist with developing budgets, monitoring expenditures, enter personnel/payroll information; run reports; perform online systems entry of documents or data involving accounts payable, purchasing, budgeting, etc.; may approve financial documents such as check requests, journals, purchase orders, travel documents, etc.
- Provide advising (answering general questions) to students, faculty; enter/update student registration and information into appropriate databases. Assist with new course listings, provide special formatting for course offerings, plan and administer student advising reporting process.
- Plan logistics and provide administrative support for program courses, meetings and events including all details associated with event; negotiate with vendors; oversee, troubleshoot and resolve special situations that arise during event. Manage event budget.
- Coordinate, manage and update communications for school/department/center including verbal, written and electronic communications and websites which may include initiating/reviewing drafts of various communications.
- Provide some general administrative support including scheduling appointments, meetings and travel arrangements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree.
- Intermediate computer skills including knowledge of computer applications and programs including Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Access.
- Good organizational and interpersonal communication skills to deal effectively with a broad and diverse range of people.
- In-depth knowledge of office procedures.
- Accuracy and attention to detail.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent high school certification.
- Two years of administrative office experience.

G07-HSalary Range
$18.91 - $29.32 / HourlyThe salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.Accommodation
