Please send a cover letter and resume to Amy Schulz, PSR Wisconsin Board President. Applications received by March 1, 2023, will receive priority consideration.
Who are we?
Physicians for Social Responsibility (PSR) Wisconsin was founded in 1983 by healthcare professionals and individuals concerned for the survival of our nation and the planet. Guided by the values and expertise of medicine and public health, PSR works to reduce the threat of nuclear weapons, climate change and environmental contamination on communities through advocacy and education. PSR Wisconsin is a state-wide membership organization and affiliate chapter of national Physicians for Social Responsibility.
During the 2000s, a few PSR Wisconsin members and local environmental organizations founded the Wisconsin Environmental Health Network (WEHN) to focus on networking with local health and environmental groups to advocate and educate about the health effects of environmental toxins and climate change. WEHN hosts an annual health and environment conference for clinicians, researchers, and activists to work for a cleaner, healthier environment.
The Administrative Coordinator will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience with advocacy and education surrounding critical public health issues such as climate change, water and air quality, energy issues, and nuclear weapons abolition. The coordinator will be able to engage with the Wisconsin state-wide environmental and peace communities as well as local grassroots groups. This position provides an opportunity for an individual to gain many skills, be engaged with a variety of important actions and issues and be a part of an inspiring and fulfilling network.
