ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist with participant orientation.
- Assist with outreach and follow-up with applicants and participants.
- Proficient understanding and navigation of the SYEP online system (YEPS)
- Organize and calculate participant timesheets every week; input the number of hours for each Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) participant into the Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD) timesheet system by the set deadline;
- Ensure that all signed timesheets are dropped off at the main site in a timely fashion to avoid interference with timesheet input and accurate record keeping;
- Submit SYEP participant back pay requests with the approval of the Program Director;
- Maintain extremely organized records of already entered timesheets;
- Notify worksite sponsors, via phone and email communication, about the arrival of participant debit cards;
- Assist other SYEP staff with work responsibilities, if needed;
- Assist with any program activity deemed necessary by the Program Director.
COMPETENCIES
- Relevant experience and/or transferrable skills preferred
- Must be detail-oriented, highly organized, and have the ability to prioritize tasks;
- Must be able to meet deadlines;
- Must be organized, detail-oriented, and able to multitask, take initiative, and work independently on tasks;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office is a plus.
- Availability between 2 PM-7 PM
EDUCATION:
- Associate Degree or at least two years of college experience preferred.
- Two (2) year history of computer experience is required.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work with a highly diverse group is a plus.
- Knowledge of East Flatbush, Flatbush, Crown Heights, and Canarsie neighborhoods.
