Responsibilities

This position serves as the Administrative Associate to the department chair in the Department of Earth, Ocean & Atmospheric Science (EOAS). Providing support in a broad range of administrative areas and serving as a liaison to the faculty as well as to the College of Arts & Sciences, the University, the State and other Professional offices.

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing administrative support to the Chair for annual Faculty Assignment of Responsibility.
  • Assisting the Chair and Evaluation Committee in completing the faculty evaluation process by organizing evidence of performance reports.
  • Serving as the primary faculty Exempt Facet representative, the departmental representative for promotion and tenure, and advising faculty and Chair of policies and procedures regarding these processes.
  • Creating and assembling faculty binders used in promotion process.
  • Maintaining FEAS (CV system) used for promotion and tenure as well as the reaccreditation process.
  • Providing administrative support for new faculty search committees.
  • Coordinating travel and schedules for faculty recruits and others as needed (e.g., Donors, Emeritus faculty, etc.).
  • Serving as the HR transactional representative processing all faculty personnel actions including recruiting, hiring, job opening packets, reappointments, terminations, leaves of absence, and sabbaticals.
  • Coordinating new faculty moving contracts.
  • Creating and updating instructor credentials in the system.
  • Serving as Secretary of EOAS departmental meetings, distributing minutes and maintaining records of all meetings.
  • Coordinating faculty calendars and meeting rooms.
  • Serving as backup Time and Labor representative in the absence of the HR Department Representative and/or as needed assisting in the monitoring of all EOAS Time & Leave.
  • Assisting in planning EOAS events.
Qualifications A high school diploma or equivalent and three years of experience. (Note: post high-school education and/or experience may substitute at a comparable rate.)University Information

Anticipated Salary Range

Minimum starting salary for the position is $36,250. Anticipated starting salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
