The State Highway Administration (SHA) District 7 is currently recruitingfor anAdministrative Assistant (Administrative Assistant I) in Frederick and Carroll Counties. This is an Interview and Hire position that is open to anyone who meets the minimum and selective qualifications listed below.
This announcement may also be used for future vacancies throughout the state of Maryland for SHA.

Nature of work:
This position provides administrative and professional assistance to the Resident Maintenance Engineer, Assistant Resident Maintenance Engineer, Office Manager, Team Leaders, and the employees assigned to the maintenance facility. The incumbent is responsible for applying a large variety of policies and procedures, payroll, computerized system requirements - FMIS, EORS to accomplish their daily work. In addition, this position provides support and assistance with stock room, inventory management and procurement. This classification is subject to call-in during off-hours in order to maintain continuous operation of a facility.

Experience: One (1) year of experience in secretarial or clerical work involving typing or stenographic duties.
Notes:
1. Applicants may substitute additional secretarial or clerical experience on a year-for-year basis for the required education.
2. Applicants may substitute an Associate of Arts degree with a major in Secretarial Science from an accredited college for up to two years of the required experience.
3. U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as defined under the Minimum Qualifications may be substituted for the required education and experience on a year-for-year basis.None.
