Minimum Qualifications of Education and Experience
Expected starting salary is $23.06 to $30.79. Full salary range is $23.06 - $38.52.
Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university in business, Administrative Assistant, or related field.
OR
Combination of education and experience equivalent to two (2) year of experience in a customer-focused position.
Regular and reliable attendance is a necessary component of job/position. Individuals required to use County vehicles and equipment must have a valid driver’s license and be free of any major traffic violations for the last three (3) years.
Nature of Work
Under supervision, performs a variety of administrative support tasks requiring specialized knowledge of policies, procedures and laws applicable to the area of assignment. Provides customer service to internal and external customers, answers questions, compiles data and reports, and prepares correspondence. Work is performed independently with attention to detail and periodic review for accuracy and conformance to prescribed standards. Answers questions about policies and procedures and may train others.
Examples of Work
- Maintains records pertaining to office activities.
- Responsible for entering data accurately for compliance purposes.
- Assists other staff with day-to-day support functions; provides backup support for other functions in the office.
- Answers and responds to phone inquiries related to area of specialization; resolves concerns and questions from internal and external customers at the front desk.
- Prepares a variety of correspondence, legal forms or reports with great attention to detail.
- Ability to work with confidential information, following data practices and procedures.
- Answers inquiries about departmental functions and operating procedures from internal and external customers.
- Performs general administrative duties for various teams.
- Creates documents, presentations in multiple software applications.
- Compiles data using high level skills in various applications.
- Provides trouble-shooting assistance on computers, software applications, office equipment, and provides technology support in conference rooms.
- Performs customer service as needed related to office and county activities.
- May perform related work as required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
- Knowledge of policies, regulations, statutes, operating procedures and practices pertaining to the area of specialization
- Knowledge of legal and technical forms and terminology in the area of specialization
- Ability to make work decisions in accordance with laws and policies
- Ability to provide excellent customer service
- Ability to learn new applications/systems
- Ability to prioritize and assign work
- Skilled in the use of technology and Microsoft Office Suite applications
- Ability to maintain and revise records and to control their use and presentation

- Proven ability to work with confidential information
- Ability and skill in using a computer
- Ability to work independently and utilize strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to make documents 508 compliant and work with DocuSign technology
- Ability to schedule and coordinate several calendars, meetings and events
- Ability to create documents, presentations and other miscellaneous communications pieces
- Ability to work in a fast-paced office environment
