Job Summary This position provides the daily analytic and administrative support for the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology staff and is a critical position within the department. This position will serve as an administrative contact person, interacting with University administrators, faculty, fellows, residents, clinic personnel, staff, students and the general public. Incumbent will utilize independent judgement to prioritize tasks and respond to the needs of the faculty and staff, effectively communicate in person, by telephone and in writing; plan, organize, evaluate situations, make decisions, adjust priorities, work independently, and respond with flexibility for assistance in problem solving. The incumbent will have the knowledge of and the ability to interpret University and UCDHS policies and procedures regarding travel, reimbursements, purchasing, promotions/merits, and medical staff procedures.

Minimum Qualifications
- Previous experience in a similar role or serving in a similar capacity required.
- Experience working with administrative policies and procedures to guide decision-making and coordinator responsibilities.
- Excellent organizational skills with demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and strong attention to detail.
- Strong problem-solving skills, resourcefulness, judgment, and discretion in order to gather complete information and develop solutions consistent with policies and procedures.
- Ability to organize tasks and set priorities with minimal supervision in a coordinating capacity, including handling a variety of tasks with a high degree of accuracy and ability to set priorities with competing requests.
- Ability to respond to internal and external customers in an appropriate and expeditious manner.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with all levels of individuals, including the ability to listen and communicate effectively and provide accurate and timely information.
- Strong administrative skills related to systematic data entry, identifying data discrepancies, documentation, record-keeping, and record retrieval.
- Competency and comfort with computer systems and advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access), including experience drafting, creating, maintaining, and updating documents, reports, flyers, itineraries, spreadsheets, and databases with accuracy.
- Strong basic mathematical skills (additions, subtraction, division, multiplication, and percentages).
- Experience handling confidential information with tact and discretion; ability to exercise sound judgments, identify problems, and seek appropriate resolutions.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently in a team environment, maintaining a professional demeanor while establishing and sustaining positive working relationships.
- Strong working knowledge of policies governing the appointment of visiting clinical faculty (APM) and medical staff and billing privileges (UCDH Bylaws of Medical Staff, Hospital Policy 1928).
- Knowledge of UCDH policies and procedures related to purchasing, accounts payable, travel, travel advances and reimbursements, entertainment, gift processing, business management practices, and proficiency using Kuali and MyTravel.
