As a (insert role) within the (insert department) at the Georgia Department of Public Health, you will join a dedicated group of public health professionals that help support the overall mission and vision of protecting lives of Georgian residents in a variety of ways.
Responsibilities
You will support the Department by utilizing your expertise to fulfill the following responsibilities:

Location: North Georgia Health District - CMS Dept. in Dalton, GA.
This position is only open to existing North Georgia Health District employees. Only North Georgia Health District employees will be considered for this position.
Job Responsibilities
Under direct supervision, performs a wide range of office administration duties functions or program areas. Duties may be complex in nature and may involve access to confidential information. May research, investigate, and/or resolve program data or issues. Drafts documentation, reports, or presentations. Represents the program or unit, provides information and assistance to internal and external customers.
  • Completes and mails bills, contracts, policies, invoices, or checks. Manages mailing for financial updates on a monthly basis.
  • Review documents such as purchase orders, invoices or hospital records in order to compute fees and charges due.
  • Assist C 1st with billing, processes referrals to appropriate programs to meet deadlines/policies of CWSN Unit programs.
  • Reviews MCH assessments and closure paperwork as entered in SENDSS.
  • Assist with any DFCS/foster care issues as they arise.
  • Attends upcoming M&M work groups with nursing leadership and share updates and system changes with department.
  • Assist in outreach activities through the week as schedule permits.
  • Ensuring quality assurance of data for quarterly reporting purposes as requested by local & State staff.
  • Assist/train new staff as needed due to program procedures.
  • Assist in Medicaid member issues due to the Continuous Enrollment Unwinding period and/or CMO process.
  • Attend webinars as available.
  • Ongoing quality assurance data accuracy for data reporting between State CMS & District VHN IT as needed and as well as between the CWSN unit regarding referrals/C 1st assessments.

Minimum Qualifications
Associate's degree from an accredited college or university OR Two years of related experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in billing, denials, insurance, etc.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish
