Accounts Receivable Specialist
Position Summary:
As an entry-level Accounts Receivable Specialist, responsibilities will include preparation and submission of invoices for federal government and commercial entities. You will work within a small team providing critical accounting support for a growing company. Teamwork, accuracy, analytical mindset, and a positive attitude will make you successful at LCE. This is a hybrid position that can be done mostly remotely with occasional visits to our Charleston, SC office.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
  • Prepare invoices for cost-type, time & materials, and fixed priced contracts
  • Reconcile project costs to contract requirements for invoicing
  • Perform collection efforts by monitoring cash receipts and resolving payment discrepancies
  • Research and assist with audit inquiries and supplemental reporting
  • Answer accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data
Required Education, Skills, and Experience:
  • Associates or Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or at least 5 years' A/R experience in lieu of degree
  • Experience with Government Contract invoicing
  • CostPoint experience preferred
  • Analytical and detail oriented. Accurate work is critical for success in this role.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Exceptional organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Positive attitude and teamwork orientation
Physical Demands and Expectations:
  • Regular physical activity to include walking, climbing stairs, standing, bending, stooping, reaching, lifting (up to 25 pounds); occasional prolonged sitting or standing
  • Ability to speak, read, hear and write, with or without assistance
  • Ability to use phone and computer systems, copier, fax and other office equipment
