Chemsolv, Inc. is one of the 75 largest chemical distributors in the United States. We have distribution centers in Roanoke, VA, Richmond, VA, Rock Hill, SC and Piney Flats, TN. Chemsolv represents over 100 manufacturers of industrial chemical, silicones, solvents, lubricants, metalworking fluids, and other specialty products.
We are now hiring an Accounts Receivable Specialist in the Roanoke, VA office.
The Accounts Receivable Specialist reports, plans, files, inputs data into systems, tracks budgets, processes credit cards, generates reports and completes other administrative duties as assigned. Provides working knowledge of accounting operational procedures involving formula costing related to lot specific process. Manages all invoice activities from order receipt through G/L coding. Records payments to customers' accounts and maintains Accounts Receivables records by performing the following duties:
•Processes customer invoices and approved returns.
•Process daily upload of customer invoices to customer portals.
•Processes daily credit card transactions.
•Posts daily receipts made via cash, check, ACH/wire & credit cards.
•Files check stubs and bank receipts.
•Researches and processes customer claims of invoice payment.
•Answers Accounts Receivable phone inquiries and follow ups.
•Call and/or mails correspondence to customers as necessary in order to update accounts.
•Reconciliation or audit of customer accounts when requested.
•Assist in collection, management, filing retention and audit of customer sales tax exemption certificates to comply with state and federal regulations.
•Reconcile and audit container deposits and returns as required.
•Verify that transactions comply with financial policies and procedures.
•Follow-up, collection, and allocation of payments.
•Assist the Credit/AR Manager as directed to resolve customer invoice discrepancies, manage collection process, maintain customer account files, reconcile customer deposits and accounts, and perform departmental audits.
•Assists with related special projects, as required.
•Tabulates compiles and manages reporting as requested.
•Continuously seek to improve internal process.
•Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.
•Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
•Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or equivalent experience preferred.
2+ years General Accounting experience preferred.
Must have strong ability to multi-task.
Must be detail oriented.
Strong telephone skills required.
Must be a team-oriented individual.
Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Knowledge of Datacor/Chempax VB a plus.
Must be customer service oriented and focus on development of supplier relationships.
Requires a high degree of accuracy and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Must possess the ability to process and manage critical and confidential information with a high degree of integrity.
