Position Overview
Our Accounts Receivable Reporting Analyst is a relatively new position and is an evolving role at Murray Company. This is an exciting opportunity to bring your expertise for leveraging advanced functionality of Microsoft Excel, your drive to take initiative and solve problems, and your passion to be a thought partner with management to continue advancing our financial reporting function. This is a highly visible fast-paced position that interacts with and prepares reports for executives and upper management.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, analyze, and report on quarterly/monthly/weekly AR reports for executives, senior leaders, and project managers.
- Prepare and distribute monthly billing close files to key stakeholders.
- Create, analyze, and maintain aging reports and update management as needed.
- Create, process, collect, and reconcile customer invoices and deposits by working closely with Project Managers, Project Accountants, and clients.
- Receive and record subtier preliminary notices in ERP software.
- Prepare/review monthly customer invoices and enter into accounting software.
- Follow up to ensure timely payments and resolve any issues which could cause delays.
- Obtain permissions to enable release of payments from the customer.
- Lead monthly cash collection meetings.
- Alert management of potential issues related to lien rights.
- Special projects and assistance as requested by the Project Accounting Manager.
Qualifications
- Prior experience working in a fast-paced corporate environment, preferably within an Accounts Receivable or Accounting function.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or other related fields preferred.
- Ability to learn industry terms and accounting processes, such as construction AIA billings & lien releases.
- Must be able to prioritize tasks & have strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong Microsoft Excel knowledge base of various functions such as VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, etc.
