Job Title:Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable Clerk
Contractors Pipe and Supply Corporation is a growing, family-owned wholesale plumbing supply distributor in the state of Michigan which serves professional trades in the greater Detroit metropolitan area. Founded in 1964, we are headquartered in Farmington Hills with seven locations across Metro Detroit. Contractors Pipe’s primary customer base is comprised of new construction plumbing contractors, service plumbers, and mechanical contractors.
Summary: We are seeking a skilled, experienced accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) clerk to join our organization. You will work closely with the management team in your day to day role.
- Performs daily functions of printing accounts payable invoices and credits, matching them against purchase orders
- Perform daily accounts payable aging analysis to ensure all items have been processed and will be paid on time
- Verifies company account with vendors by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions
- Maintains accurate vendor information in database.
- Monitors accounts payable email, researching and responding to all accounts payable inquiries in a prompt manner.
- Assists in month closing by assuring all appropriate information is entered into the computer.
- Cross training for other accounting duties involving accounts receivable to maintain a flexible work environment.
- Provide various types of administrative accounting support (i.e., word processing, processing mail, scanning, copying, shredding, filing, etc.)
- Receives payments via credit card and check and applies to customer accounts accordingly. Ensures all payments are posted daily.
- Contacts customers to resolve any payment discrepancies
- Prints and stores permanent accounts receivable reports as required to include: − accounts receivable aging − daily cash receipts/journals − end of month reports
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education/Experience:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent is required
- 1-2 years of prior accounting experience preferred
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $23.00 - $28.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
