Back to all Jobs ADMIN - ACCOUNT CLERK I - RECEIVABLES Department: ADMINISTRATION Job Status: Full-Time Apply Now Job Summary The incumbent is responsible to receive the public in the City Clerk's office or via telephone and answer or route questions appropriately. The position is responsible for accounts receivable processing for the City of Springdale. Job Posting The City of Springdale is currently accepting applications for the position of ACCOUNT CLERK I - RECEIVABLES.

Interested persons should submit an application to the Human Resources Department no later than 4:00p.m. on Wednesday, March 6, 2024. The incumbent is responsible to receive the public in the City Clerk's office or via telephone and answer or route questions appropriately.

The position is responsible for accounts receivable processing for the City of Springdale. Qualified applicants must possess a High school diploma or GED plus 7 to 11 months of related experience and/or training. Job Description ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Provide good customer service to both internal and external customers; maintain positive and effective working relationships with other City employees (especially members of their own team) and have regular and reliable attendance that is non-disruptive. 2.

Manage the reception counter by receiving the public and answering questions. Includes processing new business license applications, business license renewals, beer permits, and other cash receipts processing. 3.

Answer the telephone and assist the caller by answering questions and routing calls appropriately. 4. Enter deposits into Cash Receipts system for various City departments.

5. Maintain the accounts and files of the City of Springdale Airport leases. Responsible for monthly billing and collection of lease payments; bill late payment penalties; notify appropriate personnel of delinquent accounts.

6. Bill for Bluff Cemetery receivables quarterly. 7.

Maintain the accounts and send out statements for services performed by the Public Works Department for various entities. 8. Responsible for the billing and collection of police and fire false alarms; Bill late payment penalties as needed; Notify appropriate Police and Fire personnel regarding past due accounts.

9. Responsible for annual billing and collection of Airport Through the Fence fees. 10.

Assist in management of online business licenses; inform Accountant(s) when applications are denied and deposits need to be refunded. 11. Responsible for handling vehicle insurance; includes adding new vehicles, removing vehicles that have been sold or out of service, and processing insurance claims with vehicle insurance carrier; Responsible for processing annual and monthly insurance accounts payable invoices.

12. Responsible for insurance for all City buildings and contents; includes adding new buildings, building additions, and adjusting for buildings out of service or sold; maintains listing of buildings and contents for insurance purposes; prepares annual packet for request for bids for building and contents insurance; processes insurance claims; processes buildings and contents insurance accounts payable invoices. 13.

Prepare monthly reports for the Advertising and Promotion Commission. 14. Responsible for obtaining titles and registrations for newly acquired City vehicles through the Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration.

15. Responsible for numbering, filing, and archiving ordinances, resolutions and minutes as passed by the City Council to be viewed by the general public. 16.

Send statements of financial interest to elected officials as requested by the City Clerk. 17. Operate a computer with various software applications and word processing software in the performance of essential functions.

18. Perform any other duties as required or assigned. SUPERVISION RESPONSIBILITIES None Indicated.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE High school diploma or GED plus 7 to 11 months of related experience and/or training. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS None Indicated. PUBLIC CONTACT Daily contact with local business owners and the general public.

EMPLOYEE CONTACT Daily contact with City Clerk, Finance Director, staff Accountants, Account Clerks, and Mayor's Office. Weekly contact with other City departments. USE OF MACHINES, EQUIPMENT AND/OR COMPUTERS Must be proficient in the use of standard office equipment, personal computer with Microsoft Office Suite, DVD recorder, and scanner.

The incumbent must have a basic knowledge of financial software applications and have the ability to learn to navigate the City of Springdale's cash receipts, accounts receivable and accounts payable software applications in a timely manner. OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES Ability to utilize both internal and external resources to obtain information and data necessary to carry out routine assignments and special projects. Must have ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with management and staff.
