Accounts Payable Staff Accountant

Job Summary:
The Accounts Payable Staff Accountant reports to the Manager of Accounts Payable. The Accounts Payable Staff Accountant supports the Accounting department by assisting the Manager of Accounts Payable to set up vouchers, process payments to vendors, receive PO documents, and respond to FDU department inquiries regarding payments and statements. In addition, this position is responsible for employee expense reimbursements and travel advances processed through Chrome River software. The Accounts Payable Staff Accountant instructs University departments on various departmental issues associated with resolving payments and steps to be taken to expedite payment of invoices in a timely manner. The Accounts Payable Staff Accountant makes decisions and exercises independent judgement on issues involving policy interpretation and application.
Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree required with a major in Accounting or Business Administration preferred. Related experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

Accounts Payable experience preferred.

Proficient in Microsoft office applications and software.

Ensure compliance with accounting procedures and record keeping.

Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to handle stressful situations.

Employment is contingent upon a satisfactory background check. Candidates for hire will be required to sign a waiver authorizing the background check.
