Job Description
JOB PURPOSE:
The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for day-to-day financial transactions including Accounts Payable, corporate credit card reconciliations, and various other transactional issues. The Accounts Payable Specialist must exercise discretion in executing essential functions and be able to work independently, following through on assignments with minimal direction.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of 3+ years Accounts Payable experience preferred
- Associate’s degree in Accounting or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or similar) as well as Microsoft office 365
- Knowledge of accounting principles and regulations
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
- Proficient with high volume of transactions
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Effective communication and problem-solving abilities
Essential Functions
- Perform day to day full cycle Accounts Payable transactions to ensure accurate and timely payment processing (Includes 2-way and 3-way match)
- Receive, allocate and enter high volume invoices
- Obtain appropriate verification(s) and approval(s) for invoices before posting.
- Prepare weekly batch check runs and wire/ACH transfers and submit for approval
- Responsible for positive pay file and ACH fraud emails
- Ability to process and follow up on "rush" items
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
- Prepare Form 1099's
- Timely responses to internal and external vendor inquires/issues
- Assist in month-end close activities
- Ensure that all processing and reporting deadlines are consistently achieved
- Maintain effective, timely and professional communication with Woodland Foods employees and management.
- Maintain accounting files
- Perform other job-related duties and responsibilities as may be assigned
