Accounts Payable Specialist

Continental Auto Group is currently accepting applications for the position of Accounts Payable Specialist. The Accounts Payable Specialist completes payments and controls expenses by receiving, processing, verifying, and reconciling invoices. This position is responsible for a high number of transactions, and organizational skills are vital.

Accounts Payable Specialist Job Duties:

· Receive vendor invoices and reconcile against vendor statements

· Match purchase orders against vendor invoices

· Code vendor invoices to general ledger

· Investigate unreconciled variances

· Pay vendors in a timely manner according to invoice payment terms

· Prepare and file annual 1099 forms

· Maintain historical records by scanning, organizing, and filing documents

· Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

All applicants must demonstrate the following qualifications.

· Basic accounting knowledge – professional degrees and experience are helpful but not required. We are willing to provide on the job training to the right candidate that has a working knowledge of basic accounting concepts.

· Microsoft Office Suite – the candidate, should be proficient with Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Excel.

· Analytical ability – the position will include various special projects that may require research and a certain level of independence. Problem-solving skills are a must.

· Organizational skills – the applicant must demonstrate exceptional organizational skills.

· Excellent communication skills – the position will interact heavily with other employees and managers, as well as external vendors. Clear, concise communication while maintaining a professional and pleasant demeanor is a necessity.

Compensation:

Compensation is $24 - $29 DOE. The position is full time, and the new hire will be eligible for company benefits including health insurance, PTO, and 401(k) program after an initial probationary period.
