Summary
The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for ensuring that invoices are accurate and the proper accounting procedures are followed. They are also responsible for the payment of goods and services purchased by the company.
Essential Functions:
- Receive and enter all payables invoices for Anchorage and Juneau, including miscellaneous and local purchase invoices for all branches.
- Maintain all vendor files and update vendor master as required.
- Prepare and audit all check registers for accuracy and completeness.
- Issue checks for timely payment of invoices and take advantage of all discounts.
- Obtain required signatures on all issued checks.
- Maintain, issue, and request reimbursement of Anchorage impress account.
- Coordinate with other accounting functions, such as wire transfers, impress payments, and recurring payment files for timely payment.
- Prepare ageing and special analysis reports as required.
- Review all vendor statements/ invoices for accuracy and completeness.
- Maintain good vendor relations and assist in reconciling accounts as required.
- Process Expense Reports for all departments in all branches, and issue expense checks for all branches weekly.
- Create check run and send for approval weekly
- Advise and assist other accounting functions.
- Reconcile and post BOA statement by the 20th of every month (back date to previous month), and track all charges.

Education and Experience
- Associate Degree in finance or accounting (preferred not required)
- Two years of finance or accounting experience
Job Type: Full Time, Non-Exempt
Schedule:
- 8-hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- Occasional Saturday
