Accounts Payable Specialist

Position Summary
Under direct supervision, is responsible for the timely and accurate processing and analysis of Accounts Payable transactions. Provide administrative and professional support to ensure the success of Westmoreland’s financial functions. This position regularly interfaces with employees in all locations, as well as with outside vendors, and therefore must represent Westmoreland well in all interactions.
Supervisor Responsibilities
This position does not have formal supervisory responsibilities over other employees.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist with reconciling accounts, preparing invoices, and tracking payments for vendors, suppliers, or other organizations/individuals.
• Provide administrative support to the department in the preparation of correspondence, reports, schedules, and confidential materials.
• Ability to process 2 way and 3 way match purchase orders invoices, non po invoices, and assist with coding and identifying tax categories as well as the preparation of payments.
• Assist with accounting duties as assigned and in accordance with prescribed procedures.
• Coordinate with co-workers, management, and vendors regarding purchases.
• Perform related work as required.

Education and Experience

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum 2 years of related work experience.
• Any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that provides the required skills, knowledge, and abilities.

Typical Physical Demands
Requires prolonged sitting, some bending, stooping and stretching. Requires constant data input for extended periods of time without leaving the work area. Occasionally lifting files or paper weighing up to 30 pounds. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator, and other office equipment. Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare, and communicate appropriate reports. Requires mobility sufficient to travel.
