Summary: The Accounts Payable Clerk will work closely with the Accounting Manager. This position supports the Firm’s Accounting Department, and involves many aspects of the Account Payable process.
Essential Job Functions:
- Process high volume of vendor invoices in compliance with financial policies and procedures
- Perform day-to-day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, and recording Accounts Payable data.
- Reconcile the Accounts Payable ledger to ensure that all bills and payments are accounted for and properly posted.
- Verify and investigate discrepancies, if any, by reconciling vendor accounts and monthly vendor statements.
- Generate reports detailing Accounts Payables status
- Understand GL expense accounts and cost centers
- Understands compliance issues around Accounts Payable processes (W-9, sales tax, etc.)
- Reviewing and Approving Expense Reimbursement reports on a daily basis
- Interaction with company legal team and billing department as needed.
Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- At least 5 years’ experience in an Accounts Payable role.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Highly motivated, strategic focus. Ability to understand and support Firm goals and strategy.
- Dependable team player with ability to work independently within scope of responsibilities.
- Excellent organizational planning and project management skills.
- Ability to multitask and meet concurring deadlines.
- Strong communication and presentation skills; comfortable interacting with diverse groups of attorneys, firm management, and outside contacts.
Educational and Experience Requirements:
- High School Diploma.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting and/or relevant work experience.
- Prior experience in the legal industry preferred.
- At least 5 years in an Accounts Payable role preferred.
- Prior experience with Aderant, Chrome River, or Elite preferred.

- Ability to work extended hours when necessary
