Cannabis Accounting Specialist

Overview: Our dynamic and rapidly growing cannabis business in Oklahoma City is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Cannabis Accounting Specialist to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in bookkeeping, QuickBooks, payment processing, accounts receivable, invoice correction, credit application, and payroll. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the financial success of a thriving cannabis enterprise in a rapidly evolving industry.
Responsibilities:
Bookkeeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using industry-standard bookkeeping practices. Track and reconcile financial transactions, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
QuickBooks Management: Utilize QuickBooks to manage financial data, generate reports, and facilitate streamlined accounting processes. Ensure the accuracy of financial statements and reports produced through QuickBooks.
Payment Processing: Process payments accurately and in a timely manner.
Verify payment information and resolve any discrepancies.
Accounts Receivable: Manage accounts receivable processes, including invoicing and collections. Reconcile accounts receivable and address any outstanding issues.
Invoice Correction: Identify and rectify errors in invoices, working collaboratively with relevant teams to ensure accuracy. Maintain a systematic approach to invoice correction to minimize discrepancies.
Credit Application: Evaluate and apply credits to customer accounts as appropriate.
Collaborate with stakeholders to address credit-related inquiries.
Payroll: Process payroll accurately and in accordance with company policies.
Stay informed about changes in payroll regulations and ensure compliance.
MyTrace ERP System: Learn and become proficient in the use of the MyTrace custom-built ERP system. Effectively utilize the system to streamline accounting processes and enhance overall efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in cannabis or related industry accounting.
- Proficiency in bookkeeping, QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets and payroll processing.
- Understanding of accounting principles and current financial legislation.
- Exceptional time management, communication and problem-solving skills.
- Strong math and research skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and evolving industry.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 per year
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
