Requirements:Overview
This position is responsible for delivering high quality accounting results and analytical support. This position must also ensure the accuracy of the Company’s consolidated financial records and will be responsible for various monthly, quarterly, and year-end reporting requirements, as well as being involved with special projects. Directs work of staff through effective delegation, serving as subject matter expert on multiple and complex business activities. Demonstrates perspective and critical thinking that is cross-functional, extending beyond immediate area of responsibility.
Interacts effectively with senior management as well as external parties, including auditors. Demonstrates accountability and leadership in the advancement of priorities, independent of management oversight. Manages staff training, development, and performance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for month-end and quarter-end financial close for two legal entities. Ensures timely and accurate financial reporting is provided for all areas assigned.
- Manages a team responsible for the completion of all accounting activities related to purchase to pay and order to cash activities. Responsible for account reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close. Routinely reviews and approves the work of all staff members, ensuring all accounting responsibilities are completed timely, accurately, and with documentation to support.
- Responsible for Treasury function, including review of cash forecast, FX reporting and weekly net financial position reporting.
- Responsible for government price reporting and analysis, including review and certification of AMP, Best Price, Non-FAMP, and point person on VA contract.
- Responsible for providing all information required to the external tax consultant for filing taxes in all jurisdictions and preparing the quarterly tax provision. Support external tax consultant in the resolution of any tax issues.
- Responsible for maintaining records and renewal applications for all insurance policies.
- Coordinate accounting matters with other departments and locations, including intercompany transactions and transfer pricing arrangements.
- Demonstrates subject matter expertise within areas of responsibility. Routinely fields request from staff and business partners regarding accounting subjects. Provides ongoing accounting leadership to support business partners throughout the company.
- Oversees efforts relating to financial reporting, internal and external audits, and compliance. Ensures documentation provided is accurate and all reviews are performed successfully without evidence of control gaps within span of control.
- Manages workload and resource allocation against team objectives by providing clear direction to staff. Hands on manager that provides support to staff during peak workloads.
- Actively participate in the implementation of system improvements that will generate more timely, accurate and efficient financial reporting.
- Provides ongoing training and development for staff. Routinely engages with staff via regular meetings and informal discussions. Provides performance feedback and career support to direct reports.
- Act in full compliance with all laws, regulations, and policies including adverse events / pharmacovigilance responsibilities.
- Perform additional duties as may be assigned.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting/Finance or equivalent work experience
- 6+ years’ experience in Accounting or Finance
- 3+ years of managerial experience
- Knowledge of SAP S/4HANA, Concur Expense
- Excellent computer skills. Strong proficiency in Microsoft programs: Excel, Word, PowerPoint
- Experience working in multi currencies and multi-entity consolidations.
- Knowledge of IFRS
- Solid understanding of the principles of negotiation, influence, and conflict management to assure effective interactions within and across departments.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred.

Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Based upon job requirements, the employee may be required at times to attend meetings including travel out of state over weekends and nights. The employee must be able to freely operate and travel by car and train/plane modes of transportation. Employee is required to have a valid driver’s license and means of transportation.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee must be able to fly via commercial air carrier. This is largely a sedentary role; however, the employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Occasionally is required to lift and/or move light to moderate weight up to 25 lbs.
