Accounting Clerk

Job Summary:

Kovitz Shifrin Nesbit is growing! A well-established and leading law firm located in Illinois is seeking a part-time Accounting Clerk. This position will be responsible for a variety of in-office clerical accounting tasks. We are looking for a self-starter with an interest in the accounting field. Accounting students are encouraged to apply! This is a non-exempt, in office position, averaging 15-25 hours per week. The starting pay for this role is $22.00 per hour. Urgently hiring!

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Accurately apply cash receipts to customer accounts.

• Process payments and apply them to the appropriate invoices.

• Reconcile daily cash receipts and deposits to ensure accuracy.

• Ensure all cash receipts are applied correctly to minimize unapplied cash.

• Perform reconciliations of cash application activities.

• Investigate and resolve any discrepancies between cash receipts and invoices.

• Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of cash application process.

• Department mail handling – incoming and outgoing.

• Other special projects as required by management.
