What You Will Do:
The Accounting Clerk supports a range of accounting and administrative functions including, but not limited to, accounts payable and accounts receivable, and is responsible for the administration and coordination of the mail opening and check deposit processes for all NatureBridge operations. You will work closely with program and administrative staff and report to the Controller.
This is a full-time, non-exempt position with a flexible schedule that accommodates in-person and work-from-home schedules. You must be able and willing to commute to our campus on the Marin Headlands 1-2 days a week.
Your primary job will be to:
In-Office - Mail Opening & Check Depositing
- Open mail weekly at the Golden Gate Campus (Marin Headlands, Sausalito) with a Development Team member
- Log check information in cash receipt log
- Scan mail to remote team members and file necessary documents
- Deposit checks received using a remote check deposit scanner
- Occasionally deposit checks at local bank if not accepted by scanner
- Maintain onsite financial files and records
- Assist in management of onsite technology equipment
Remote
- Support new vendor set up with applicable data gathering for accounting software
- Process and enter accounts payables
- Review and verify vendor invoices for accuracy, proper authorization, and compliance with organization policies
- Review employee expense reports and receipts, confirming proper backup is attached
- Perform regular supplier reconciliations
- Reconcile credit card and bank statements
- Follow up with accounts receivable collections
- Perform accounting ad-hoc activities and general administrative tasks in support of the finance department
Compensation:
- $56,000-59,000 Annually

Who You Are:
Skills & Experience:
- Working in an accounting or business office function, processing cash receipts, vendor payments and other accounting-related tasks
- Strong computer skills, especially with spreadsheets. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, Microsoft Word and Google Docs
- Experience with accounting software preferred
- At least 1 year of back office or accounting experience, preferably in a non-profit setting

- Able to prioritize, multi-task, demonstrate customer service skills and have a high attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to maintain confidential and sensitive information
