Accounting Clerk

An Accounting Clerk is responsible for providing accounting support to accounting manager and other managers within the hotel. Ensures files are complete and maintained as needed and assists accounting personnel. Ensures bills are accurate as to items, price, and extensions. Must also ensure bills have been approved by the Department Head and Management. Assist in processing billing for hotel guests and functions. Specifically, you would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

• Perform accounting and clerical functions to support Accounting Manager.
• Prepare business transactions for daily entry into the general ledger system.
• Review all final statements with sales contracts for accuracy.
• Maintain record of payments and ensure vendors files are in proper order.
• Assist in processing billing for hotel guests and functions.
• Responsible for handling all questions and concerns related to charges and conducts careful research to develop the most effective solution and negotiate results. Listen and extend assistance in order to resolve problems.
• Assist in resolving outstanding balances, gathering appropriate back up when needed.
• Pay all bills promptly and accurately after verifying that they have all the proper supporting documents. Ensures that bills are accurate as to items, price, and extensions while also verifying they have been approved by the Department Head, Director of Finance, and Management.
