Accounting Clerk

Provides clerical support to department staff as needed, and performs routine accounting functions to include processing cash receipts and data entry.

Perform administrative and clerical duties in accordance with standard office procedures and Borough policy.

Receives, verifies and enters department invoices, timesheets, and other data into the computer tracking systems.

Maintain department personnel files; reviews and processes department timesheets.

Receives and records payments, which may include fees, rent, utility, tax and other accounts receivable payments.

Provides information and assistance to visitors and others having business with the department; assists customers with applications, government forms and other documents; answers phones; responds to requests for information within the span of authority.

Prepares daily deposit slips and balances cash receipts.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge of Borough policies and procedures.

Skill in operating a personal computer utilizing a variety of standard software.

High school graduate or G.E.D/or, a combination of 12 years of education and related work experience.

One year of clerical or accounting experience.
