What We Are Looking For:
The Taylor International team is seeking an Accounting Assistant with proven experience and a strong commitment to customer service.
The Accounting Assistant will play a pivotal role in our financial operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance in the management of budgets, contracts, change orders, and pay applications for our commercial construction projects. Your meticulous attention to detail, proficiency in software tools like Procore and Microsoft Office, and knowledge of construction accounting principles will be instrumental in supporting the successful execution of our projects.
The Accounting Assistant also provides exemplary service in a manner consistent with the values and mission of Taylor International.
In this role, you will:
- Collaborate with the financial team to develop and maintain project budgets.
- Track and report on budget variances.
- Assist in the review and management of construction contracts.
- Ensure compliance with contract terms.
- Handle change orders, including documentation, approvals, and tracking.
- Prepare and process pay applications, verifying accuracy and compliance.
- Coordinate with subcontractors and manage subcontract accounts.
- Verify and maintain up-to-date insurance certificates for all stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with insurance requirements.
- Maintain records of labor rates and related documentation.
- Assist in labor cost tracking.
- Complete and manage State of Nevada forms and regulatory paperwork.
- Ensure adherence to state regulations.
- Handle and maintain union-related letters and documentation.
- Manage change orders, including documentation, approvals, and tracking.
- Maintain an organized system for tracking and updating insurance certificates.
- Collaborate with clients, providing support and promptly addressing their needs.
- Assist visitors in finding their way within our organization and provide any necessary information or directions.
- Respond to phone inquiries and provide information or route calls as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized reception area, ensuring it is well-stocked with necessary supplies.
- Provide vital support by performing various administrative tasks, such as data entry, filing, photocopying, and document scanning.
- Receive and distribute incoming mail and packages promptly and accurately; Prepare outgoing mail.
What You Need:
- Associate's degree in Accounting or a related field is preferred, but equivalent experience may be accepted.
- 2 - 3 years of experience in accounting, preferably in a similar construction setting.
- Strong knowledge of construction accounting principles, practices, and software tools
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Procore Certification
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
- Exceptional ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, subcontractors, and clients.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to support successful project outcomes.
