The Position

Accounting Assistants perform clerical accounting work in the maintenance of accounts and accounting records for State agencies.

You'll be making impactful decisions that influence the immediate work units and the quality of services provided to program clientele. With some supervision, you have the latitude to choose the most effective methods to achieve exceptional results within an established framework. Your responsibilities extend to processing State budget and accounting documents, reconciling internal accounting records, and preparing reports that have a direct impact on the daily activities of your section or bureau. Your expertise will be crucial in preventing errors that could lead to non-compliance, additional staff time, inconvenience to clients, or even loss of funds.
