Accounting Assistant

We are looking for an Accounting Assistant/Scalehouse Assistant to perform daily accounting tasks that will support our financial team. Accounting Assistant responsibilities include working with the accounting team to enter invoices, process AR/AP, basic book keeping, and assist in developing reports. This individual will also run our scale, printing weight tickets and preparing invoices for truckers leaving the site. Ultimately, you will help our Accounting department run smoothly, ensuring transparency and efficiency in all transactions.

Responsibilities

• Reconcile invoices and identify discrepancies
• Create and update expense reports
• Process reimbursement forms
• Prepare bank deposits
• Enter financial transactions into internal databases
• Check spreadsheets for accuracy
• Maintain digital and physical financial records
• Issue invoices to customers and external partners, as needed
• Review and process Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable
• Participate in quarterly and annual audits

Skills

• Work experience as an Accounting Assistant or Accounting Clerk (Preferred, not required)
• Knowledge of basic bookkeeping procedures
• Familiarity with finance
• Hands-on experience with MS Excel and accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks)
• Organization skills
• Ability to handle sensitive, confidential information

Employment Pay and Benefits

A new hire in this position will start between $12 and $22 per hour; depending on background skill level and experience. This position is a full-time position working on-site Mon-Fri from 6AM to 4PM. The site operates with different Winter/Summer hours. This person will be eligible for overtime in running the scale and invoicing system as well as helping input financial information.
