Job Title: Accounting Assistant
Job Location: Sterling, VA
Purpose of the Position:
This position will assist the Accounting & Purchasing departments. This individual will learn purchasing, accounts receivable, and accounts payable. They will assist each of these departments by learning these roles and taking on some of their workload during busy times.
Position Requirements:
- Highly motived, energetic individual with an eagerness to learn and a "Can Do" attitude
- High attention to detail and very organized
- Ability to work independently and efficiently, while also able to work well within a team setting
- Ability to multitask, prioritize and exhibit excellent time management skills
- Punctuality is a must
- Must have dependable transportation
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Create & track Purchase Orders
- Receive materials in inventory system
- Create monthly invoices & post them into Accounting software
- Assist A/R with follow up on outstanding AR weekly
- Enter A/P invoices into Accounting software
- Assist A/P by posting credit card charges
- Assist A/R & A/P with monthly & year-end closings
