Position Summary::Rowan-Cabarrus Community College is looking for a Staff Accountant to join our Business Office team. Responsibilities may include providing customer service in person and on the phone; preparing standard reports; resolving routine questions and issues; data entry of accounting documents; and filing documents. Other core responsibilities include performing construction accounting (including record CIP on financial statements) ,recording fixed assets related to construction projects, reconciling construction projects with both Rowan and Cabarrus County governments, and cash flow statements for system office.
The staff accountant will monitor and track budgets, prepare and enter budget and journal entries, work with the department to update and create policies and procedures, and assist with the yearly EAGLE and financial statement audit.
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field and two (2) years of accounting experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities::Knowledge of: Basic accounting principles and practices; Data entry techniques; Basic mathematical concepts; Recordkeeping principles; Computers and related software applications.
Skill In: Performing basic mathematical calculations; Using a computer and applicable software applications; Communication, interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction.
