Accountant Job description

We are looking for a detail-oriented, efficient and organized professional with extensive experience in accounting systems. Possess strong analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to make well thought out decisions. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Highly trustworthy, discreet and ethical.

This job will involve, accounting, payroll, inventory reconciliation

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: our compensation will most likely be between $45,000-$60,000 + 2% for employer retirement and full health benefits with Dental (and some optical depending on plan chosen each year) depending on the job history and experience.

• High school or equivalent (Preferred)

Banking and Financials:

Daily Banking & LOC Review

Monthly Financials which include: 

  Tariff Calculations

  Journal Entries

  Bank Rec/Payables/Receivables

  Petty Cash

  Credit Card statements

Annual Financials which include:

  LOC Renewal

  Prepaid Reconciliations

  Other duties required by off-site CPA

Company/Taxes ~ 

Assist with tax information required annually 

Business tax payments & license renewals

Employee W-2 reviews w/S-Corp Insurance adjustments

Possible Dividends and Loans

1099s

Accounting & Other Duties ~ 

Invoicing daily

Receivables (deposits, credit cards, ACH) and reporting of past due accounts

Payables (and International Wires)

Monthly & Annual Inventory reconciliation/review

Inventory on the water, including in-transit entries and arriving cargo 

Shipment discrepancies 

Payroll bi-weekly, with monthly IRA Contributions

Human Resource duties as needed

Concession reconciliations and payments

Assist with Software upgrades (Mfg/Acctg, UPS, Windows, etc)

Involvement in Renewals for:

Software & Subscriptions

Printer & Mail Meter Leases

Office Lease

Water Service

Warehouse Service Agreements

Insurance for: Health, Medicare, Life/ST/LT, Dental, Liability/Auto/Workmans Comp/Marine Cargo

Consulting Agreements

Simple IRA

Miscellaneous: Any duties assigned by owners and/or C.O.O.
