About the Position
This Account Manager role is a strategic sales position that will grow our client’s existing business and cultivate new business opportunities with pharma, biopharma, biotech, clinical, government, and academic research institutions in the territory’s regional market. The Account Manager will foster and build client relationships with the company’s target customer profile – genomics, cancer research, and clinical microbiology labs. The Account Manager will be a technical seller able to consult with clients on their NGS workflows and offer solutions suited to their specific research needs. The Account Manager will work in partnership with other sales groups on cross-selling opportunities and collaboratively with cross functional teams on sales activities. The Account Manager will possess a hunter sales mentality and be eager to prospect, develop, and close sales and new business. The Account Manager will participate in lead generation activities and will own, drive, and close the entire sales cycle from end-to-end.
About the Job Requirements
- 2+ years of technical sales experience or in a customer-facing role focused on NGS, Genomics, or Molecular Biology solutions.
- Knowledgeable of Genomics and NGS technologies, tools, applications, and workflows.
- Demonstrated track record of selling complex, technical life science products, preferably capital equipment, laboratory automation solutions, or NGS services.
- Hunter sales mentality and eager to close new business opportunities and build client relationships.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and works well both independently and in team selling environments.
- Strong communicator able to lead technical consultations with customers and gain commitment to close deals.
- Resilient, coachable, and learns continuously from experience.
- B.S. degree in Life Sciences is required. Advanced degree is preferred.
- Previous experience working as a Scientist or Researcher is a plus.
- Home-office based with up to 30-50% field travel within the assigned territory.
