Position Summary:
The successful candidate will design, direct and oversee Special Projects related to the Accounting function within the Finance Pillar. Specific projects will evolve over time, but the focus will be on consistent improvement of existing procedures and workflows. Initial projects will include training and guidance to the Accounting team, ensuring the team is adhering to Accounting and Tax policies as required. This role will also actively participate in a process review/redesign of the tax compliance workflows, providing input on reports and tax information that are passed from Accounting to DFO Tax. This is a leadership role within the Finance Team and the position will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer.
Day-to-day responsibilities:
- Participate in the tax compliance initiative by providing insight to the redesign of tax preparation packages that are passed from Accounting to the internal tax team.
- Develop and deliver training on Accounting Policies and related Tax Policies as required for the maintenance of the financial records.
- Participate and provide subject matter expertise in oversight of the Finance related activities in the international locations.
- Lead specific initiatives for the Accounting team, collaborating closely with other pillars, notably, Tax, Estate/Trust Planning, Legal and Investments.
- Provide mentorship and career development guidance.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree; CPA/MBA and/or advanced degree preferred
- Prior leadership and management experience in the Finance/Accounting practices
- Minimum of 10 years' experience in progressively senior leadership roles

Compensation:
Compensation for the role includes a competitive salary in the range from $200,000 to $350,000 (inclusive of a merit-based bonus, dependent on years of experience, level of education obtained, as well as applicable skillset) and an excellent benefits package, including a comprehensive employer paid medical plan and generous employer match for 401k.
