Access Control Project Lead Technician

This is a direct hire opportunity for an Access Control Project Lead Technician in our Advanced Systems division. Our labor rate ranges from $28/hr to $40/hr, depending on your skills, how quickly you learn, and ability to meet the team's production levels.

Bandera Networks is a provider of advanced IT and AV systems, primarily residential and some commercial. We provide Sales, Installation, and ongoing maintenance for our clients. Bandera IS is a leading provider of IOT solutions nationwide. We nurture relationships in the MultiFamily and Rental markets to support this division.

Purpose of the Role:

A Project Lead is able to perform quality installations and lead a team on-site. They can install and troubleshoot devices and maintain the quality of the entire job from beginning to end. They are constantly learning and absorbing more knowledge and honing their skills through experience and creativity. They must use their communication skills to understand information for tasks that are assigned to them and repeat/delegate tasks to their teammates. Technician must communicate effectively with the end-client representative of the company and can explain and troubleshoot their new system. In this position, you will be asked to solve problems, teach and correct level 1 and 2 technicians, answer questions and perform device installations.

Experience:

3+ years experience with Access Control hardware(electrified doors, maglocks, strikes, cctv, gate operators)

Tool usage and knowledge

Cabling experience (fiber preferred)

App and Software Usage:

Team member is willing to learn and properly use all company software applications in a timely and efficient manner.

Communication:

Is able to clearly communicate both verbally and written to: Teammates/Supervisors/Tenants/Clients

Installation and Pairing:

Proper usage of PPE: Masks, Gloves, Booties and Safety Glasses

Fully understands the type of device, how it communicates, how it is installed and how to troubleshoot it. (i.e. door locks, troves, push to exit, pull points/pathways, motion sensors, other misc devices/equipment)

Has full knowledge of fiber: installation, splicing, termination, evaluation and testing.

Reads and understands blueprints

Knows industry standards/color codes

Jobsite Performance:

Tech is early or on time for work, ready to go.

Tech is learning something new on a regular basis.

Follows the scope of work assigned to them.

Completes tasks in a timely manner and continues to be more efficient.

Tech can read instructions for installing devices or something new.

Can troubleshoot network related issues.

Has the ability to program Brivo, PDK and or alloy access systems

Can manage a crew of 4 or more team members

Uses blankets and protects the work area at all times.

Tech is always cleaning up after themselves while on property and representing Bandera and its clients in the highest manner.

Tools:

Has the ability to use all the standard hand and power tools required to complete their assigned tasks.

Packouts, drills, screwdrivers, door jigs, dremel tools, levels, tape measures and other tools.

Must have all the tools required from the tool inventory by the end of 90 days.

Tech keeps a neat and organized tool bag. Tech knows how the van is loaded and how the job is staged upon arrival.

Travel:

Travel is a requirement. The time spent traveling is generally about 80% of the time. You could be out of town, 2-4 weeks at a time.

Work Metrics:

Termination Quality

Toning, Testing, Labeling accuracy

Number of go back - at fault repairs, missed work, poor quality etc.

Authority:

Be an effective team member, recognize possible mistakes and help correct them or report them to your supervisor.

Can make decisions on when and where to modify device installation.

Communication with Sr. ASI's or Bandera clients when supervisors are unavailable.

Can perform counseling and verbal warnings to employees with Director advisement.

Requirements:

Team member can stand, squat, walk, and climb stairs up and down for an entire workday.
Moving at a swift pace for the day. Your team will move steadily; you will have to do the same.
Understanding blueprints, and design drawings, including wiring and labeling methods, system wiring, wiring methods, and cable supports.
