HERE IS WHAT YOU WILL DO
The School of Public Health - Office of Academic Assistance is seeking an Academic Advisor III to be responsible for but not limited to the following duties:
Supporting the BS in Public Health program. Responsibilities will include advising prospective and current students on academic requirements and course selection. Audits student records for curriculum, major, and graduation requirements. This position will be a liaison with the University Advisement Center, participate in mandatory advisement sessions, conduct INCEPT information sessions, and information sessions for prospective students. This position will interface with the Undergraduate Program Director regarding program structure, policies, and the 4+1 program. This position will only advise BS students.
· Advise and counsel current and prospective students on academic policies and curricular requirements. Assist current senior students in planning their course schedule. Maintains student records.
· Audits student records for curriculum, major, and graduation requirements. Acts as liaison to University Advisement Center and Undergraduate Program Director.
· Conduct information sessions for perspective students, conduct advisement sessions at INCEPT for new students, and participate in undergraduate events on campus.
· Monitor student registration activities. Trains new advisors and serves as mentor for Academic Advisor I and II. Coordinates and communicates with the Program Director on academic program changes, updates, and the 4+1 program application process. Monitors student readiness for Signature Experience and provides course overrides.
· Serves as lead on reporting and analysis of undergraduate student retention, progression, and oversees graduation checkouts for undergraduate students. Evaluates and determine transfer credits. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Hiring Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and five years of related experience; or a combination of education and related experience.
