Job Summary
Provide academic advising to specified student populations in the undergraduate programs. Assist with Academic Advising for new and transfer students at orientations. Maintain detailed records of appointments including information disseminated to students; refer students to appropriate campus resources; adhere to all policies associated with the university, particularly those regarding confidentiality of student information. Participate in outreach efforts to connect students to advising and to increase retention and graduation rates. Ability to use technology including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office, Google products, EAB Navigate, and Banner.
Responsibilities

Advising: Provide holistic, high-quality academic advising services to assigned students via face-to-face, telephone, virtual and email. Provide resource referrals to at-risk students. Assist students in major exploration and with referrals for career counseling. Serve as liaison to academic departments as assigned. Use Banner, EAB Navigate, Wolf Watch, and other systems to schedule appointments, maintain records, and monitor academic progress of assigned students. Develop and deliver professional presentations, publications, and training to the UWG community to enhance academic advisement on this campus and the larger academic advisement community regionally and nationally.

Participate in pro-active outreach strategies. Design marketing and printed materials to publicize the Advising Center. Collaborate with other departments such as the Enrollment Services Center, Career Services, First Year Experience, and Financial Aid to effectively assist students in staying on track to reach their academic goals. Participate in advising functions outside of the office, to include Preview Days and Pop-up Advising. Serve on committees as needed

Develop registration templates for assigned students attending Orientation based on degree program requirements. Participate in First-Year and Transfer Orientations to assist student with understanding academic requirements and course registration process

ABILITIES
Must be able to travel and work occasional evenings and weekends. Normal office work environment. Must have the ability to lift up to 25 pounds and the ability to travel across campus.
