Able-Bodied Food Warehouse Assistants

PLEASE NOTE: THIS POSITION SEEKS ABLE-BODIED PERSONS WHO DO NOT HAVE PHYSICAL LIMITATIONS. ONE OF THE PRIMARY ASPECTS OF THE JOB IS TO BE ABLE TO CONSISTENTLY LIFT AND CARRY PLASTIC TOTES CONTAINING NON-PERISHABLE FOOD, WHICH WEIGH AT LEAST 40 POUNDS, TO AND FROM OUR FACILITY. NO CLIMBING UP AND DOWN STAIRS REQUIRED. If this is you, then this position is a wonderful way to give back to the community and receive a salary at the same time! We are looking to immediately hire 2 PART-TIME food service workers to assist with the preparation and, distribution of non-perishables for our meal program for low-income children and families.

PLEASE NOTE: EXPERIENCE WITH DRIVING CARGO VAN IS A PLUS!!!!

the salary STARTS AT $20.00 an HOUR. You are eligible to make $22.50 after 30 days, commensurate with your work performance.

Basic duties include:

The ability to consistently lift and carry bins with food throughout the facility, and unloading and unloading our van.

Load and unload the van (food from stores such as Sams Club or Walmart

Assembling non-perishable food sacks for low-income children

Preparing food packages for families in need

Inspection (including washing and drying) of plastic bins

Shelving and sorting food and disposing of recyclables

You will also, oversee volunteers; to get them started on projects and to ensure they are following the company protocols for quality assurance.

Assisting in office upkeep/ bathrooms, vacuuming, etc.

Helping to make deliveries to our partner organizations with integrity, and carefulness

Being willing to follow the company instructed methods of delivery, best practices,etc.

Essentially we are looking for cooperative, cheerful team players who are willing to do whatever it takes to get the job done in feeding precious low-income kids and their families in our community.

Overall we are looking for persons who are punctual, reliable, teachable, with a good attitude, and someone who has had at least 3 solid years of experience working in any capacity.
