SUMMARY
We are looking for a highly motivated individual with a diverse skill set who can work well independently, 1 on 1, and in team environments. The individual must possess organizational skills that will help elevate a highly energetic and productive warehousing area. Sagamore Spirit ships product domestically and internationally, each of which present different challenges the Warehouse Assistant will learn. The Warehouse Assistant will also work and learn the packaging line and assist in barreling activities. This role requires constant communication between the warehouse and all other departments in the company.
WAREHOUSE DUTIES
- Prepare orders by processing requests, pulling materials, packing boxes, and building orders on pallets
- Set up logistics for pickups and deliveries to the loading dock
- Organize, stock, and maintain inventory
- Ensure shipping documentation is accurate
- Load and unload scheduled deliveries and shipments
- Assist with monthly inventory counts
- Contribute ideas on ways to improve or optimize warehousing procedures
- Keep the warehouse clean and organized daily
- Maintain the highest safety and quality standards of Sagamore Spirit
- Comfortable with professional interaction with public and private guests daily
- Work all stages of the team focused packaging line
- Attention to detail throughout the production/packaging process
- Multi-tasking and progressive thinking with tasks
- Unloading truckloads of barrels, both empty and full
- Racking/clocking barrels in aging barns
- Entrepreneurial spirit and work ethic combined with a pragmatically optimistic can-do attitude. Takes pride in producing a high-quality product, doing the work to get it right, and the endless pursuit of continuous improvement. Is safety orientated and never knowingly puts themselves or others at risk.
- Must be at least 21 years old with a high school diploma or the equivalent
- Ability to operate forklift, pallet jack, and other warehouse equipment
- Must have a high aptitude and ambition for learning
- Strong attention to detail and communication skills
- Able to work in extreme weather conditions, aging barns are not climate controlled
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs. repeatedly
- Able to roll and move full barrels, 500 lbs. when filled
- Ability to input, retrieve, and analyze data
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
- Hands-on commitment to completing assigned tasks
- Able to stand for long periods of time
- Multi-task during the workday with activities and tasks within the Packaging department
COMPENSATION
Starting rate: $18/hour
