Great Lakes Reality Labs is currently seeking a 3D Artist to join the Art Department in current and future projects in order to ensure deadlines are met and objectives for each project are complete.
The primary responsibilities of the 3D Artist include:
- Collaborate with designers and developers to understand the concepts and objectives of the project
- Sketch concept designs and other elements to iterate on visual styles
- Create 3D environments and models (e.g., structures, terrain, props) to be used in video games
- Create detailed materials, lighting, and rendered images to meet project objectives
- Optimize 3D assets for various platforms and device specifications (e.g., Windows, Chromebook, mobile etc.)
- Complete tasks and meet objectives as defined by the production schedule/deadlines
- Solve problems that relate to creative and technical issues
- Effectively deliver key elements essential for project development from start to finish
We are looking for someone who has:
- Excellent communication skills to work within a department in order to effectively meet deadlines
- Knowledge of lighting, perspective, material finishes and special effects
- Skilled in 3D modeling
- Skilled eye for composition, photo-realism, and lighting
- Experience in using Unity and Unreal Engine
- Self-motivated individual with strong work ethics who can work both independently and collaborate with a team
- Flexibility and willingness to learn new technologies as needed
- Knowledge in using Autodesk Maya, Substance Painter, Substance Designer, or Adobe CC
Bonus points if you have:
- Bachelor's Degree in graphic design, animation, fine arts, or a related field
- Knowledge in Marvelous Designer
- 2+ years of experience in industry
- Experience working in different art styles
- Experience with Agile development methodology and/or Scrum
While we have a strong preference for candidates in Michigan, we are open to interviewing remote candidates for this role.
