- This Position is for Monday-Friday 1pm-930pm.
- The Cleaner position provides the cleaning and upkeep of an assigned area and must be highly independent and motivated.
- Cleans and maintains building/facility. Performs heavy cleaning duties, such as cleaning floors, shampooing rugs, vacuuming, sweeping and mopping, washing walls and glass, cleaning bathrooms and removing garbage.
- Notifies managers concerning the need for minor or major repairs or additions to building operating systems
- Establishes and maintains effective communication and working relationships with directors, members, co-workers, shift coordinators, supervisors, managers, etc.
- Complies with all safety, security, compliance, and quality standards and procedures established by the facility.
- Cleaner must be flexible and willing to complete all tasks that are assigned. Responsibilities
- Cleans building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and vacuuming them. Follows procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment in order to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
- dusting and washes furniture, walls, machines, and equipment; cleans ceilings and dusts and polishes light fixtures.
- Moves furniture, and equipment to clean areas, either manually or by using hand trucks
- May remove stains from such surfaces as rugs, walls, and floors using chemicals and cleaning solutions. May also sweep walks, remove snow, or perform other incidental seasonal tasks
- Mixes water and detergents in containers to prepare cleaning solutions according to specifications
- Cleans and vacuums carpeted areas, including application of spot cleaning treatment when needed.
- Gathers and empties trash
- Wipes and cleans tabletops, chairs, and equipment in classrooms
- Cleans and polishes furniture and fixtures
- Services, cleans, and supplies restrooms
- Periodically cleans overhead vents, dusts blinds, and polishes wood furniture
- Cleans interior partition glass, windows, glass partitions, and mirrors using glass cleaners, rags and squeegees
- Sets up, arranges, and removes decorations, tables, chairs, to prepare facilityfor events such as banquets and meetings
- Must keep janitor's closet neat and orderly and maintain equipment in good working order
- Requisitions supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties
- Monitors building security and safety by performing such tasks as locking doors after operating hours and possibly checking electrical appliance use to ensure that hazards are not created
- May be expected to make basic repair(unclog toilets, fix dispensers, etc)
- · Miscellaneous duties as assigned
Qualifications
- · Must be 18 years of age or older
- · Must meet all requirements to receive approval for working in specific OCFS environments (if applicable), including ten-year work history, 5 years cleaning.
- Expert knowledge of cleaning a commercial building/ School. Expert Cleaning experience is a REQUIREMENT. Monday-Friday 1pm - 930pm (some overtime/weekends possible). Must be able to pay attention to detail and thoroughly clean rooms top to bottom. Cleaning bathrooms, running floor machines, over seeing sports events, securing facility and outside gates. Experience with floor machines is a requirement, as well as working independently. 5 YEARS CLEANING EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED.
