2422M - Program Manager, Internal Audit

The Program Manager, Internal Audit is responsible for providing independent assurance that the organization's risk management, internal control, and governance processes are operating effectively. The Program Manager also provides strategic leadership in the development of an appropriate risk-based audit plan by effectivley supervising external contractor resources and managing the performance of audit assignments. Additionaly, performs financial and operational audits to identify and assess risks, and to recommend improvements to the organization's control environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Conduct risk assessments to identify and prioritize risks to the organization
• Develop and implement audit plans to evaluate the effectiveness of the organization's internal controls and governance processes
• Perform financial and operational audits to identify and assess risks, and to recommend improvements to the organization's control environment
• Communicate audit findings and recommendations to management and the Board of Directors – Audit Committee
• Monitor the implementation of audit recommendations and follow up on corrective actions

Required Qualifications:

• 10+ years of experience in operational audit, Internal Audit and internal controls, audit reviews, and risk management with a focus on the electric utility industry
• Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or similar, Certification; member of the Institute of Internal Auditors
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting or Business.
• Previous experience in compliance, risk assessment, project management and process improvement
• Ability to maintain independence while also supporting management, audit committee and external auditor to achieve strong outcomes
