ResponsibilitiesThis position is responsible for managing grant activity in the Department of Biomedical Sciences in the College of Medicine.
Assists in managing administrative, financial and compliance activities for Principal Investigators in the Department of Biomedical Sciences. Provides support to department for sponsored research activities and advises Principal Investigators on grant and University allowability of salary effort and procurement based on funding agency, University and college guidelines. Coordinates proposal development activities and serves as a liaison with COM MED-Research Administration and Biomedical Sciences PIs. Maintains purchasing and budget records for sponsored research activities serving as backup for departmental purchasing activities. Coordinates with department's Administrative Specialist to ensure research funding is up to date with budget reports.
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree and four years of experience related to budget, financial and/or accounting services; or a high school diploma/equivalent and experience equal to eight years.
- This position requires successful completion of the eSPEAR Certification or ability to obtain the certification within 6 months of hire.
