2024 MBA Innovation Leadership Program (iLead)- Relationship Manager 1

What you'll do:
This eighteen-month sales development program is designed to strengthen capabilities and foster innovation to scale the company to meet its next phase of growth. The program participants will become the trailblazers in their functions, working on business development projects to shape the future of Western Alliance Bank. Participants will gain a high-impact experience, accelerate their careers as innovation leaders, and build their professional network by interacting closely with senior executives.
The program is designed to provide hands-on experience and responsibilities to help participants accelerate knowledge of the financial industry, the economy, market conditions, and competencies development within Commercial Banking. Activities include prospecting, consulting, negotiating, underwriting, deal structuring, and coordinating the closure of significant and complex commercial loans while maintaining and servicing a loan portfolio.
The participant will be responsible for attaining established individual goals through business development activities and building new client relationships. Support our growth by consulting with companies on the Bank's products and services that will help them grow their own businesses.
The Rotations for this Sales Track are:
• Relationship Management
• Credit Administration
• Treasury Management
Relationship Management is responsible for acquiring, maintaining, and expanding client relationships all while ensuring excellent client service and delivery to the client base. While in this role, the focus will be on client selection, driving product efficiency, relationship deepening and other business-related projects.
Credit Administration, which is part of the Bank's front-line units, is responsible for the oversight of all activities related to the credit process. This process includes working with lines of businesses on the approval of credit to borrowers, assessment of the creditworthiness of potential clients, and credit review of existing borrowers.
Treasury Management is responsible for delivering a complete slate of deposit and cash management solutions to optimize cashflow and manage risk. From online banking to fraud protection, APIs and web integration to commercial credit cards, the Treasury Management team works with the Relationship Manager and client to help protect the business and meet their goals.
What we are looking for:
Qualifications:
  • Completed MBA program and/or Masters' degree in a related field within three years of program application.
  • Two to Five years of Sales, Credit Underwriting, or Loan Origination experience. Ideal candidates will have experience working in a Commercial Bank or as a successful sales professional in another industry.
  • Familiarity with commercial lending i) practices, ii) underwriting standards, iii) deal structuring, and iv) documentation.
  • Exceptional oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to develop marketing and business development plans to increase business.
  • Ability to deal with complex problems involving multiple facets and variables in non-standardized situations.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills
  • Understands the complexity of transactions and related risk (credit, market, operational, legal, compliance, etc.)
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work with little supervision while performing duties.
  • Ability to be flexible and work in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation: Salary range for new hires is generally $90,000.00 - $118,000.00 for Los Angeles, CA. Salary amount is determined by specific job location. In addition, the role may be eligible for annual bonus/incentives earned and restricted stock.
