The Arizona Metro C&I team is focused on bringing on and retaining small and mid-sized companies to bank with Western Alliance Bank, providing them with the capital (loans) they need to operate and grow their businesses and helping them with their Cash Management needs. Our team is tasked with identifying and evaluating new opportunities within our footprint (although we work primarily with AZ based companies) and working with businesses to understanding their financing needs (real estate, equipment, working capital) so we can properly structure credit facilities to meet those objectives. We use a lot of different product types to achieve this, including construction loans, term real estate loans, equipment loans/leases/lines, monitored lines of credit, non-monitored lines of credit, SBA 7a and SBA 504 financing, to name a few. Our team is setup with approximately half of our group on the "sales side" consisting of Relationship Managers who are frequently out networking to bring in new opportunities, with the other half on the "credit side" consisting of Portfolio Managers which help structure the loans and continuously monitor them to ensure compliance with loan covenants and terms. We also work with our clients to bring in their deposit accounts and support their treasury management needs, in order to help them deposit funds, move money safe and efficiently internally between their own accounts as well as to collect funds from their clients and send out payments to vendors and employees.
The credit analysts will help support both the Relationship Managers and Portfolio Managers in evaluating company performance to ensure new loans fit within our lending policy, and identifying any negative trends that may arise from existing borrowers which may warrant increased monitoring. They will also support Relationship Manager's sales efforts though market research and identifying opportunities to advise on cash management including products such as positive pay, ACH debit filter, corporate cards, remote deposit capture, lockbox, wire access, insured deposit solutions and general account setup.
What we are looking for:
Graduating students who are not only top performers, but who also have leadership experience, an entrepreneurial mindset and are passionate problem solvers. You may be a fit for this program if you meet certain eligibility requirements, including:
  • College Degree from a 4-year College or University or equivalent
  • Completion of an Accounting course
  • A GPA of 3.0 or higher is required.
  • Strong analytical, conceptual, communication, leadership, and organizational skills
  • Ability to self-motivate and work productively without supervision.
  • An interest in working in the Commercial Business Banking industry.

Benefits you'll love:
We offer all the important things you'd want - like competitive salaries, an ownership stake in the company, medical and dental insurance, time off, a great 401k matching program, tuition assistance program, an employee volunteer program, and a wellness program. In addition, you'll have the opportunity to bolster your business knowledge, learning the ins and outs of how successful companies operate and manage their finances, giving you invaluable hands-on experience to help grow your career!
