Duties:
- This position reports directly to the President of Cortina and has significant growth potential for a high achiever.
- Support the VP of Business Development in winning new contracts, primarily in Modeling & Simulation (M&S) and related capabilities.
- Provide project management and technical support on M&S projects.
- Serve as customer liaison for the M&S Programs portfolio.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with customers, subcontractors, and employees.
- Responsible for hiring and managing highly qualified program/project managers (PMs) that are a culture fit with Cortina and will represent us well to our customers. Responsible for supporting recruitment activities for PMs, including the creation of requisitions, conducting interviews, and approving offers. Conduct annual personnel performance reviews for PMs and administer salaries. Support training of team leads.
- Interface with customers, project managers, and project personnel regularly to promptly identify and resolve potential issues.
- Ensure team meets all regulatory and contractual requirements.
- Identify and mitigates program risks.
- Brief executives on project/program statuses.
- Ensure projects/programs are performed in compliance with contractual requirements.
- Meet customer requirements, within cost and schedule constraints.
- Prepare monthly internal/external financial and program deliverables.
- Develop and improve business processes.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required:
- 5-10 years' experience in Modeling & Simulation (M&S)
- B.S. in Engineering, Computer Science, or other STEM major
- Experience in the Defense and Aerospace sector
- Experience writing winning technical proposals for new government contracts
- Project Management experience (government contracts)
- Security Clearance
- Occasional travel
- Fulltime onsite at Cortina headquarters in Huntsville, AL
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree (Technical or MBA)
- PMP certification
- AS9100D/ISO/CMMI experience
- Military experience
