Description
POSITION SUMMARY:
Develops, organizes, and implements high quality YMCA program(s) including before and after school, summer camp, school days out and other youth development programs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Under the direction of the Executive Director, prepares, develops, and administers budgets for the department utilizing SGA software and meeting the budgeted net by year end.
- Directs and supervises program activities at assigned locations to meet YMCA objectives of the following programs:
- Day Camp, Before & After School
- Kid Zone
- Staff Engagement
- Social Media Management
- Recruits, trains, develops, schedules, and directs personnel and volunteers as needed. Reviews and evaluates staff performance. Develops strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals.
- Establishes new program activities and expands program within the community in accordance with strategic and operating plans.
- Assists in the marketing and distribution of program information, may organize and schedule program registrations. May review and assist with processing program scholarship applications.
- Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with community organizations.
- Coordinates use of facilities for program activities and events.
- Assists in YMCA fund raising activities and special events.
- Responds to all member and community inquiries and complaints in timely manner.
- Assists with Program Committee meetings
- Compiles program statistics. Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of and participation in program.
- Organizes and oversees program activities and events.
- Recruits and coordinates and ensures screening for volunteers from the local community.
- Coordinates and monitors teen summer camps.
- Organizes, and conducts Leaders Club/Leadership High School activities and events.
- Secures facilities for program activities and events.
- Facilitates and coordinates participation in community events, expos, on and offsite open houses, etc. to increase awareness and foster relationships in YMCA programs.
- Responsible for upholding all staff safety requirements including cleaning protocols throughout the day, as required by my department.
- Ensures compliance for all licensed programs.

- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move 30 pounds or more.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent preferred.
- Florida Childcare Director's credential preferred.
- One to two years related experience preferred.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
- Ability to identify and evaluate program trends.
- Ability to adapt to program schedule as needed.
- Valid driver's license.
- Successfully complete State of Florida Criminal History Background Check requirements as well as meet the Association's policies on background screening
- Adhere to drug/alcohol/smoke free workplace policy
- Must be a self-starter, with high energy and a positive attitude
CERTIFICATIONS AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:
- CPR and First Aid Certifications required
- Annual completion of YMCA's Blood Borne Pathogens training
- Annual completion of YMCA of the USA Child Abuse and Neglect class
- Completion of YMCA program-specific certifications.
- Staff Safety Requirements/Cleaning Protocols
- Additional training classes as recommended by supervisor.
