Job Description:

WTVP, a public media television station serving the central Illinois region for over 50 years, is seeking an energetic and dynamic leader to fill the President and Chief
Executive Officer (CEO) role. The ideal candidate will be dedicated to implementing the mission of WTVP and PBS with integrity. WTVP is a locally owned 501(c)3 organization committed to remaining independent and serving the local needs of the community through noncommercial programming and educational services.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Leadership and Mission Implementation:

• Serve as a leader to inspire and guide the talented staff and volunteers.
• Implement the mission of WTVP and PBS with integrity.
• Serve as a liaison with PBS and the Corporation for Public Broadcasting
• (CPB).

2. Financial Management:

• Enhance the financial strength of WTVP.
• Plan the annual budget to ensure goals and financial targets are met.
• Ensure fiscal responsibility amongst staff and donors alike.
• Provide transparency and accountability to our donors.

3. Community Engagement and Fundraising:

• Excel at community engagement, fundraising, and partnership building.
• Inspire community collaboration and outreach.
• Grow revenue through philanthropic giving, underwriting support, major giving, planned giving, membership, grant writing, and monetizing digital media platforms.

4. Board Reporting and Leadership:

• Report to the WTVP board of directors.
• Provide leadership for station activities and day-to-day management.

5. Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree (minimum requirement).
• Executive management experience.
• Demonstrated success in fundraising and grant writing.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Familiarity with the community.
• Passion for the mission of public broadcasting.
• Media experience is not required.
