Job Description
This position is an entry point for the pool of qualified applicants to be selected for anticipated part-time temporary positions working under the guidance of the Texas State Technical College Corporate College. Instructors may be required to develop customized training curriculum and /or provide instruction for workforce development and industrial training clients.
Essential Functions
- Employee will demonstrate TSTC Core values of Excellence, Accountability, Service and Integrity with internal and external stakeholders, customers, students and members of the community.
- Develop curriculum for a variety of educational projects including but not limited to continuing education, apprenticeships, contract and industrial training, and other special training projects, as well as international programs.
- Deliver instruction for a variety of educational projects including but not limited to continuing education, apprenticeships, contract and industrial training, and other special training projects, as well as international programs.
- Complete documentation including grades, etc., as required by the supervisor.
- Other duties as assigned
Education/Experience/Knowledge/Skills
- Licensed nurse (ADN, LVN, RN) in the state of Texas
- Minimum of 1 year acute care experience in a hospital setting
- Instruct and observe all clinical skills during lab hours
- Assist CNA Director with DADS Prometric paperwork and scheduling of testing for students.
- Establish and maintain cooperative relationships with college staff and with clinical site staff;
- Teach the course curriculum as outlined in the Texas Curriculum for Nurse Aides in Long-Term Care Facilities manual
- This job description covers a position in which the percentage of time spent on the essential functions will vary based on the workload and will ultimately be determined by the supervisor.
